Undefeated England stand in defending champions’ way at The Oval as they bid for last-four
Toss New Zealand win toss, bat vs England
New Zealand have won the toss and chosen to bat first in a the last group game of their T20 World Cup campaign, now carrying plenty of jeopardy, against England at The Oval.
With Ireland having upset West Indies in Bristol immediately before this match, a win for defending champions New Zealand would mean they qualify for the semi-finals after a difficult campaign in which they have won two matches and lost two.
England, meanwhile, are already through to the knockout stages, having progressed undefeated so far through the tournament.
Melie Kerr, New Zealand’s captain, said at the toss: “We have been supporting Ireland and now we have it our hands, which we didn’t think would happen after the first two games. We are in a privileged position.”
Both sides are unchanged for this encounter, with England captained by Charlie Dean in the absence of Nat Sciver-Brunt, who is working her way back from a calf injury suffered during their second match, against Ireland.
